About this site
Idle Facet is a single, finished thing: a five-step reading course for people in Australia who are new to downloadable PC games. It is not added to weekly, it has no news section, and there is nothing to subscribe to. It is reviewed, corrected and left alone.
A.1 Who publishes it
Idle Facet is published by F-Global s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic.

The Contact page sets out what we can and cannot help with, and what happens to a message once it arrives.
Writing is attributed to the F-Global s.r.o. editorial team. There are no individual bylines, because no one person's opinion is on offer here — what is on offer is a sequence of steps, and the sequence does the work. There is no newsroom, no guest contributors and no reader submissions.
A.2 How the course was structured
The course was built backwards from the questions a beginner actually gets stuck on, rather than forwards from a list of topics. The ordering rule was simple: nothing may appear in a step unless everything it depends on has already been covered.
That rule decided most of the structure. Vocabulary had to come first, because a reader who does not know what a client is cannot read a requirements list — so Step 1 defines terms and nothing else. Hardware had to come before documents, because a reader whose computer cannot run a game does not need its refund policy. Documents had to come before installation, because the support contact you need at install time is found on the pages you read beforehand. And spending had to come last, because in the common payment model it genuinely does come last, and reading about it in advance is the only chance a reader gets to decide calmly.
Each step ends in a checklist because a step that cannot be reduced to things you confirm yourself is a step that was written for the writer's benefit rather than the reader's. Where a draft section would not reduce, it was cut.
A.3 What each step relies on
Two kinds of source, and no third.
- The vendor's own published pages, for anything about a specific product: requirements, terms, privacy notice, refund position, support contact. Where a vendor has not published something, the course says that rather than estimating. No product claim here comes from a third-party article, a video or a forum.
- Australian government bodies, for anything about rules, safety or consumer rights: the Australian Classification Board for classification decisions, the Australian Cyber Security Centre for general security guidance, Scamwatch for scam information and reporting, the eSafety Commissioner for online safety and advice for parents and carers, the OAIC for privacy, and the ACCC for consumer law.
Where a point is covered by neither, the course phrases it as general guidance and says so in the sentence. It does not carry statistics, test results, benchmarks or ratings of its own, because it does not run tests and would have no basis for publishing figures.
A.4 How often it is reviewed
Twice a year as a matter of course, and additionally whenever we notice a change in a vendor's published terms or in the Australian material the steps link to. A review means re-opening every linked page, checking that it still exists and still says what the step claims it says, and correcting the step if it does not.
The date of the most recent review appears in the footer of every page, including this one. If you find something out of date or wrong, the fastest way to have it fixed is to write to info@idlefacet.online and say which page and which sentence.
A.5 The commercial relationship, stated plainly
The honest version
This site earns money from paid affiliate links. One game, World of Warships, is used throughout the course as the worked example, and the links to it are affiliate links: if a reader follows one and creates an account, the publisher is paid a commission by the affiliate network that operates the link.
That game was not chosen because it was compared with others and came out ahead. It was chosen because the publisher has a commercial relationship with the programme that promotes it. No comparison is offered anywhere on this site, no scores are given, and no claim is made that this game is better than any other.
What the commercial relationship does not decide is the content of the steps. The steps would be the same sequence with any example in them, the checklists do not mention the game, and every checklist can be completed against a different vendor entirely. The course can be finished without following a single link, and it is still worth reading that way.
The full explanation, including where the links appear and what commission does and does not influence, is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
A.6 What this site is not
It is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by any game vendor. It is not a news publication, and nothing here is reporting. It is not a download site — no software is hosted here and nothing is served from this site except pages like this one. It is not accredited training, and finishing the course earns no certificate, because there is nothing to finish and nobody keeping score.
It also collects nothing. There is no form on this site, no account, no newsletter, no analytics and no cookie; the pages load nothing from any other server. That is set out in full in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
