Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026
P.1 Who is responsible, and what this covers
The responsible entity is F-Global s.r.o., of Vojtěšská 211/6, Nové Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic, company registration 03468496, contactable at info@idlefacet.online. F-Global s.r.o. publishes the website at idlefacet.online, which is referred to here as Idle Facet.
F-Global s.r.o. handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which are published and explained by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. Because that is the framework, this policy is set out principle by principle, so you can check any one of the thirteen against what actually happens here.
This policy covers idlefacet.online and nothing else. Idle Facet links out to other websites — vendors' own sites, Australian government bodies, and the affiliate link described below. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else's site, governed by their policy and not by this one.
P.2 APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information
APP 1 requires an organisation to run its handling of personal information openly, and to publish a policy saying how. This page is that policy. It is reachable from the footer of every page on the site, costs nothing to read, requires no account, and is written to be read by someone who is not a lawyer. The practices it describes are the practices the site's code implements; there is no second, internal version.
P.3 APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity
Reading Idle Facet requires no identification of any kind. There is no sign-in, no name field, and no point at which the site asks who you are. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonymous email address and need not give your real name; we will answer it.
The single exception is a request to access or correct personal information. There we need enough information to be reasonably satisfied that we are dealing with the person the information is about, because handing someone else's information to the wrong person would be the greater harm.
P.4 APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information
Two categories of information exist, and they are the whole list.
- Server access logs, kept by our hosting provider as part of operating the web server. A log entry records the IP address the request came from, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sent one, and the user-agent string your browser identifies itself with.
- The content of emails sent to info@idlefacet.online: the sending address, any name given, the message itself, and any attachment.
Nothing else is collected. There is no form, no newsletter, no account, no quiz and no progress tracking anywhere on this site. The checklists do not record which boxes you ticked. There are no cookies, no localStorage or sessionStorage, no web fonts, no analytics, no advertising tags, no profiling and no cross-site tracking. The site requests nothing from any other server: every page, style and script is served from idlefacet.online itself.
P.5 APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information
Sometimes an email contains more than we need in order to reply — a signature block with a postal address, an attachment that was not required, details of a third person. Where that information is not needed to answer you, and where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, it is deleted. We do not file it away in case it is useful later.
P.6 APP 5 — Notification of collection
APP 5 is about telling people what is being collected and why, at or around the time it happens. This page is that notification, and the purposes are short enough to state here in full:
- Access logs — keeping the site secure, preventing and investigating abuse, and diagnosing faults. They are not used to build a picture of any reader and are not analysed for marketing.
- Emails — replying to you, and nothing else.
P.7 APP 6 — Use or disclosure
Information is used only for the purpose it was collected for, as stated above. Personal information held by F-Global s.r.o. in connection with this site is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for marketing. It is disclosed outside the company only where the law requires it — for example a valid order from a court or an authority with power to compel it.
The only routine recipients are the two service providers named under APP 8 below: the hosting provider that runs the web server and keeps the logs, and the email service provider that runs the mailbox. Neither is permitted to use the information for its own purposes.
P.8 APP 7 — Direct marketing
None is carried out. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, no course reminders, no re-engagement messages and no advertising audience built from anything here. If you email us, you will receive a reply and then nothing further.
P.9 APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure
Two service providers are involved in running this site. Access logs sit with our hosting provider, which may store or process data outside Australia. Emails sit with our email service provider, which may also store or process data outside Australia. We are not naming a country for either, because to name one we would have to be certain of it, and we would rather tell you the limits of what we know than give you a precise-sounding answer we cannot stand behind.
Beyond those two, no personal information is disclosed to any overseas recipient.
P.10 APP 9 — Government related identifiers
This principle has no application here. No government related identifier — a tax file number, a Medicare number, a driver licence number or anything comparable — is adopted, used or disclosed by F-Global s.r.o. in connection with this site, and none is ever requested.
P.11 APP 10 — Quality of personal information
The only personal information we hold that could be wrong is what is in an email you sent us. If something in it is inaccurate, write and say so, and it will be corrected or the message deleted, whichever you prefer and whichever is appropriate. Access logs are a mechanical record of requests and are not edited.
P.12 APP 11 — Security, and how long things are kept
The site is served over HTTPS. There is no database behind it and no submitted content stored anywhere, because nothing can be submitted. The hosting account and the mailbox are reachable only by people working for F-Global s.r.o., using individual credentials.
We claim no certification and no compliance with any standard beyond what is written here. Retention is specific, and is stated per category:
- Access logs: 30 days, after which they are deleted in the ordinary course.
- Email: 24 months after the last message in the conversation, after which the thread is deleted — unless a message needs to be kept longer because it is relevant to a legal claim, in which case it is kept only as long as that claim requires.
P.13 APP 12 — Access to personal information
You may ask what personal information we hold about you. Write to info@idlefacet.online with "Privacy request" in the subject line. There is no charge for making the request. We reply within 30 days. In practice the answer for most people is that we hold nothing, because they have never written to us and log entries within the retention window cannot usually be connected to a person by us.
P.14 APP 13 — Correction of personal information
You may ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Use the same address and the same subject line, and we will reply within 30 days. If we decline to make a correction we will say why, in writing, and tell you how to complain about that decision.
P.15 Affiliate links and what happens after a click
Some pages carry a paid affiliate link, which is disclosed beside the link and explained in full on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Following one takes you off idlefacet.online.
On their own sites, World of Warships and the affiliate network that operates the link may use cookies or similar technology to record that the referral came from here. That happens on their domains under their own policies, not ours, and we have no control over it or access to it. F-Global s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network. Those reports are used only to reconcile payments, and we neither seek nor want information in them that would identify an individual reader.
P.16 Complaints
If you think your privacy has been mishandled, write to info@idlefacet.online and describe the problem. We will answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which explains the process at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints. You do not need our permission to do that.
P.17 Data breaches
If we become aware of unauthorised access to, or disclosure or loss of, personal information held in connection with this site, we assess it promptly. Where serious harm to any affected person is likely, we notify those people and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
P.18 Children
Idle Facet is written for adults and is not directed at people under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and since the site has no form, no account and no tracking, there is no mechanism here by which a child could be identified.
P.19 If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK
F-Global s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation also applies to its handling of personal information.
The legal basis for keeping access logs is our legitimate interests in operating the site securely and diagnosing faults. The legal basis for handling an email is taking steps at your request and responding to your enquiry. There is no consent basis, because there is nothing here to consent to: no cookies and no tracking.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, exercisable by writing to info@idlefacet.online. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Ours is the Office for Personal Data Protection in Prague (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), uoou.gov.cz.
P.20 Changes to this policy
When this policy is revised, the effective date at the top is updated in the same edit. If a change is material — a new category of information, a new recipient, a different retention period — a short note saying so is placed at the top of this page and left there for 30 days.
P.21 How to contact us about privacy
